What is the right age to begin taking music instructions?
For one-on-one music lessons, starting age varies according to each child’s readiness. Children usually begin music lessons at the age of 5 since anyone younger may feel overwhelmed and frustrated.
For older students looking to start, it's never too late! Music lessons help develop the brain in both children and adults and studies have shown significant positive effects in motor, auditory, and cognitive functions.
How is studying at MozArt Music Academy different from in-home lessons?
-
Distraction Free:
-
Studying at MozArt means students are able to learn in a distraction-free environment without phones ringing, TV, pets, cooking smells, and sibling interruptions. Our professional facilities are state of the art with soundproofing systems, top-of-the-line instruments, security camera, and large observation windows.
-
Motivating Programs:
-
MozArt offers challenging programs like annual recitals, various other performance opportunities, and exam/competition preparation.
-
Inspiring Peers:
-
When students come for their weekly lessons, they are exposed to other peers of various levels and ages. Seeing and hearing other students inspire them to strive for their full potential.
-
Convenience:
-
We offer simultaneous private lessons for multiple family members, no matter what the instrument. Our MozArt families can enjoy saving time that an in-home instructor may take to give lessons to multiple students back-to-back or by coming multiple times a week.
I am an adult. Can I still take lessons at MozArt?
Of course! It’s never too late to learn even if you’ve never had any music instruction before. In fact, a study shows that adults (age 60 to 85 with no prior musical experience) showed improvement in processing speed and memory just after 3 months of weekly piano lessons. Just let us know what instrument you are interested in learning and we are happy to find the right lesson time for your schedule.
What styles of music do you teach?
We teach a variety of styles and genres including rock, pop, jazz, country, blues and classical. Our goal is to meet your needs so let us know what you are looking for.
Are your instructors qualified?
All of our music instructors are carefully handpicked by our director, Dr. Tarina who has a doctorate degree in music with 20+ years of teaching experience. We go through a vigorous interview process from reviewing hundreds of resumes; studying videos of candidate's teaching and performing; checking their references; conducting multiple interviews; and doing background checks so that every MozArt student can enjoy making music right from the start.
I don’t have any musical background. Can I still help my child practice?
Yes! Our teacher ensures to help our students fully understand new concepts during the lesson and provides detailed assignment notes for their successful practice at home. In addition, our teachers always welcome questions so that they can give you advice on how to help your child practice. We also have open door policy so you can sit in on lessons to gain ideas and tips.
